- EU release of LIBERO Version 6 Announced -

Insight Informatics Pty Ltd – the company that develops LIBERO Library Management Solutions used across Italy, Australia and Germany has restructured its distribution network to improve customer services for the European client base.

A new contract, finalised between Insight Informatics and InfoLogic SRL last month provides Italian libraries and organisations using LIBERO with a more immediate means of contact and support from the software developer.

“This new arrangement means Italian LIBERO Libraries will immediately have greater access to support resources – including an international online customer portal, providing access to the experience and advice of peers, fellow LIBERO users and product experts 24-7,” said the founder of Insight Informatics and LIBERO, Sam Patane.

“Italian-based clients will enjoy the benefits of local support and market knowledge from InfoLogic, and gain access to systems that facilitate greater interaction between LIBERO’s Development Team and the Italian customer base,” he said.

“This includes means to directly log customer development requests with teams at Insight’s Australian head office, so that we can improve our capability to support the needs of libraries throughout Italy.”

The LIBERO Solution Studio encompasses a complete range of fully-integrated, web-based library management solutions developed collaboratively by Insight Informatics and libraries across Australia, Africa and Europe since 1980.

Over 30 years, the LIBERO product range has grown to include fully-integrated, web-based LMS, federated search, digital library and consortia solutions and successfully attracted a prestigious range of special, academic and public libraries.

Since 1997, InfoLogic has been responsible for the distribution and support of LIBERO via a third distributor. This arrangement successfully established a notable client base throughout Italy that includes the International School for Advanced Studies, the CNR Institute of Information Processing Pisa and a consortium of 60 different library services across the Province of Padua.

The restructure – a new direct partnership between InfoLogic and Insight Informatics now provides more immediate communication, support and involvement for Italian users. The arrangement coincides with the impending roll-out of the latest, web-based version of the LIBERO LMS, Version 6, across Europe – announced for Q1 2012.

“LIBERO Version 6 has been available to Australian libraries and successfully supported needs since 2009. Whilst establishing a user-base for Version 6 in Australia, we have continued to work on localisation required for the European library market, including MAB Cataloguing formats and customer development requests,” said Patane.

“Now, after 5-plus years development, I am now confident that LIBERO Version 6 EU represents a solid, tried and tested web-based management solution that can support the strategy of European libraries of all size and structure.”

“The improvements in our support networks via this new contract with InfoLogic will provide Italian LIBERO Libraries an even stronger foundation to achieving their long-term strategy.”

“I am very excited about making LIBERO Version 6 software and services available and improvements in these solutions. The response to Version 6 in Australia has been fantastic and I have no-doubt their European counterparts will be equally
impressed,” he said.
