A new single point of discovery to all Maitland City Library content is now available. The Library now offers a federated search and discovery program that unifies access to the Library’s digital resources through a web-based interface.

‘Federated searching is an effective means of improving service delivery via easy, intuitive access to diverse library collection,’ said City Librarian, Keryl Collard. ‘A discovery search offers users the option to perform one search from the Library’s website across multiple content sources.’

Discovery search makes accessing library resources easy – one search from the Maitland City Library website at www.maitland.nsw.gov.au/library will provide instant access to the breadth of the Library’s rich physical and digital collections.

The ability to search across all supplier portals through a single command with a single results page will significantly improve the customer experience and the Library’s capacity to offer breadth of collection.
